View from this walkSHARNBROOK (THE HIGH STREET) TO STEVINGTON (MARKET CROSS)

This walk starts in Sharnbrook High Street. Follow the High Street until the road bends sharply to the left. Leave the road by turning right along a bridleway past the converted Sharnbrook Windmill and diagonally across the fields towards Pinchmill Islands.

Turn left to cross over the footbridge and then bear left before immediately turning right over a second bridge. Enter Pinchmill Islands and follow the waymarked path, crossing two pairs of raised bridges.

Leave Pinchmill Islands by turning left and then right over a stile and passing a caravan site on the right. Pass Brook Farm, crossing the end of The Old Road and continue straight ahead following the waymarked footpath.

At the corner of the hedge turn left following the footpath for 100m. Then turn right onto a track. Follow the track, crossing Moor End Lane before turning right into Moor End Road.

Continue through Radwell and then bear right at The Green. Cross Felmersham Road and follow the footpath opposite The Swan PH and continue across the field to the corner of the wood.

Continue along the edge of the wood with the golf course on your right and enter a conservation area.

At the end of the golf course, bear right and follow the waymarked path. Walk around the edge of the playing field before turning right onto Pavenham Road and walking into the village of Pavenham .

Follow the main road past The Cock PH and turn left into Mill Lane.

At the end of Mill Lane go through the kissing gate and follow the waymarked path through the wood and fields, walking parallel to the River Great Ouse.

Walk diagonally across the field and follow the path around Wood Craft Wood. Continue along the footpath, bearing left back towards the river before turning right to follow the path towards St Mary’s Church, with the river on your left.

Follow the footpath into Church Road and continue along the road until turning left at the crossroads at Stevington Cross, a scheduled ancient monument, in Stevington.
