View from this walkGREAT BARFORD (CHURCH) TO EATON SOCON (RIVER MILL TAVERN)

Cross the road at the traffic lights and continue up New Road passing the church on your left. Turn right and follow the path around the sewage works site down to the river. Turn left and follow the riverside path for 2.1 miles/3.4km to Roxton Lock. The Kingfisher Way links with the Ouse Valley Way where the River Great Ouse and River Ivel meet at Roxton Lock, as shown on the map.

Pass Roxton Lock on your right and follow the riverside path around to Ford Lane. Cross Ford Lane and follow the path around the field edge.

Continue on the path past a concrete footbridge keeping the field on your left and the stream on your right. Bear left across a footbridge and through a woodland and avenue of trees.

At the fence turn right and follow the field edge path for 100m. Pass through a squeeze stile and through Roxton Church yard. Cross the road, turn right and immediately left and follow the footpath to the A421(T).

Turn right and after 200m cross Bedford Road with care. Follow the pavement over the A421 bypass bridge. 30m beyond the crest of the bridge turn right to cross the barrier and follow the path down the embankment. Continue along waymarked paths to Chawston.

At the road turn left and then right. Continue over a large field and join the track to pass the lakes on your left. Cross over Begwary Brook and follow the path straight across the field, through a gap in the fence. Cross the carpark and follow the pavement to the entrance of the Milton Park Centre.

Turn right on to The Lane and continue towards the A1(T). At the end of The Lane turn right and cross the A1(T) using the footbridge. Turn left and follow the roadside pavement north through Wyboston village and then beside the A1(T). Follow the pavement up the A1(T) sliproad, past the Wyboston Lakes Leisure Complex entrance and on until the dropped kerb just after the A428(T) roundabout.

Cross the A428(T) with care and turn left. Follow the roadside path for 0.6 miles/1km along the B1428 into Eaton Socon.

Turn right at the war memorial into School Lane and continue to the River Mill Tavern.

Turn right towards the river. Cross the river over the lock and turn left along the eastern riverbank towards St. Neots. The earthworks of Castle Hills can be seen on the opposite bank.

Follow the riverside path through a caravan and camping site and continue traveling north. Cross the footbridge into the riverside park and follow the path up to St. Neots Bridge. Pass under the bridge, turn right and go up the steps on to the bridge.
